My incomplete log of the CIAF 2008 at Brno, if anyone can help with the missing parts....

Flypast Saturday
Mi-24V: 0815, 0835, 7356
Mi-24V: 0710, 7354, 7358
L-39C: 0115, 0444, 0445
L-159A: 3x
L-159A: 6058, 6059 +1
JAS-39C: 9245 +2
We had just arrived by bus at the field when the flypast happened. We could read the Helicopters and L-39s easily, but not the fighters. The read L-159s and Gripen split off from the formation and performed more displays. Who can help with the missing numbers?

Flypast Sunday (read at Caslav)
L-159A: 6052, 6053, 6059, 6060, 6061, 6064
JAS-39C: 9240, 9241 +1
On Sunday morning we decided to visit Caslav instead of Brno again. The L-159s and Gripens were flying from here and these were read when they returned after the flypast. Only one Gripen (that we did see take off) did not return. On the CIAF website there is a picture of 9237, can anyone confirm this one was part of the flypast?
Furthermore, Gripen 9235 was parked at the flightline at Caslav.

Flightlines:

FA101 and FA131 were the 2 Belgian F-16s
E25/F-TETJ and E118/314-LN were the 2 Alpha-Jets
9245 was the JAS-39 which was there, 9237 joined after the flypast and left around 16:45
the LET-410 was the 1132
061, 062, 064, 068, 056 and 059 were the PC-9s
3H2007/7, 3H2004/8, 3H2008/2 and 3H1708/4 were the TS-11s

Jan-Pieter, thanks for the additions!

Flypast on saturday:
9241,9237, +1 JAS-39
With this you mean the 9245 was on the field the whole day, but not part of the flypast? And the 9237 was the one landing after the flypast?

Yes, when we arrived on Saturday at 06:30 in the morning 9245 was on the flightline. When we left on Saturday around 17:00 it was still there. The 9245 flew the solo display in the afternoon. 9237 was one of the 3 Gripens from the flypast and landed after that. I think meant as spare for the solo display and departed around 16:45.

Hi all,

Group of us went on Sunday 7th Sept and pretty much cleared it all. Little to add to Saturday reports except I have seen two bits of information for the Alpha Jets. The yellow one F-TETJ is E25 no issue, however the grey one has been reported as 8-NS and also as 314-LN. Can anyone confirm which one was in on Sunday?

Also which Police choppers flew? We left when the 412 started it's display to go round the south side but could not read it. Nor the EC135 that took off shortly after it landed. Any help appreciated.

Regards
Rick

Although I didn't see it myself, this picture at the CIAF website will answer your question: 314-LN.

On Saturday both mentioned Police choppers flew (OK-BYR and OK-BYG). I wasn't there on Sunday.

But can you confirm Gripen 9237 landed after the flypast on Sunday? We saw three Gripens leave Caslav, but only two returned.

Thanks,
Erwin

Hi Erwin,

Thanks for reply again. I did see photos of 314-LN, there is an excellent night shot of them both on airlienrs.net as well. However the site planes.cz also states on the BRQ movements page that 8-NS came in with no mention of the one in photographs.

Regarding the Gripens for Sunday we confirmed 9237, 9240 and 9241 in the flypast and that 9237 landed and joined another one I could not identify which I was informed was 9245. Hope this helps.

Regards
Rick Ware
