Because off the darkness i couldn't see the serial or other markings. I was thinking " maybe an USAF tanker" . The other dutch man told me the local spotters were talking about an Israelian 707......
Did you hear or read something on one off the Port. Forums?

For what it's worth, SBS Livemode-s shows IAF012 KC707 272 around 18.00 Z in the area, and again in the air the 3of March around 07.00 Z.

One other Alphajet in the northernmost hangar was 15228, in Asas colours.
Also some gate guards and a monument:
F-104G 20+99 (somebody told me this is not the correct ID for this bird)
T-33A 1951
T-38A 2602, these three at the gate
Alphajet 15201, elsewhere on the field.

The civil apron hosted:
A330 CS-TRY
A340's CS-TFX and (9H-?)SUN.
All three looked stored.

Forgot the preserved ones indeed.

That someone told you wrong. The 2099 used to be at the gate, but was taken down some years ago. It was in such a bad shape that it could not stay. It was for a while in the hangar that was now used for the presentation, but scrapped by now probably. The one now at the gate should indeed be 2262, which was transferred here from Furstenfeldbruck about a year ago (?).
I have some pictures here of all the stored stuff that was in the hangar less than two years ago. All gone by now (though a lot of it may been moved to the factory).

CS-TRY is waiting certification to fly, CS-TFX and 9H-SUN are waiting for costumers to fly, they are from HIFLY.

Hello Fred,

the T-38A at the gate was the 2610.
Bij 103 ESQ home there was also a tail from Alphajet 15203...don't know if the rest is still at the field or already scrapped.

An Indian AF contingent arrived today at Beja for a night-stop on their journey to Eielson AFB to attend Red Flag Alaska 16-1.
