And another:

5 Nov - 9 Nov SPS Castilla, landing platform dock, up to 6 helicopters

This one will dock on the southside of the river though. Well visible from Lisbon riverside, but a bit far away...

Some more choppers seen on board ships today. The Dutch NH90 was in its hangar, as was the Canadian. Both had their hangar open though. Also the Norwergian (HNOMS Fridtjan Nansen) had its hangar open, but it was very, very empty. No chopper on board that one.

6 Nov 2015 - HMCS Winnipeg
CH-124A 443Sqn 12440
6 Nov 2015 - HNLMS Tromp
NH.90NFH 860Sqn N316
Log created with OPAD trip report

Futhermore the SPS Blas de Lezo and FGS Sachsen are in port, both nothing on deck. The SPS Castilla is on the other side of the river and I think it has at least one chopper on deck, but could not see it well this morning. The HMS Ocean arrived just after 11 and although I know for a fact it has some helicopters on board, none was on the flightdeck.
And to finish for now, the Italian ITS Andrea Doria left this morning, still with the hangar closed. So I cannot tell if it had anything on board or not.

Next planned visit: HMS Duncan will arrive the 21st and stay until the 24th. Could carry up to two helicopters.

The HMS Duncan indeed was in port as mentioned, but when I checked it out, it was all locked up. But, the next is already on its way: HMS Richmond will be in port from 4 till 7 December. Able to carry one helicopter.

Sunday April 3rd will see the arrival of the FGS Ludwigshaven am Rhein (German Navy, able to carry a Lynx) and the Russian Navy research ship Admiral Vladimirskiy. The Russian will make its final stop on its round the world trip that took it to Antarctica. It seems to have a hangar for a helo, but I haven't been able to find any pictures of it during this trip showing one.

Two more again. Turkish frigate TCG Barbaros is in port right now until the 22nd and could carry one helicopter. And tomorrow, the 20th, the Canadians will be back in town again with HMCS Fredericton until the 24th. This one carries a CH-124 (12405 according Twitter pictures).

Canadian should be on the other side of the city. North bank still, but beyond Cais do Sodre. Approximate coordinates: 38.70/-9.161

No Canadian (14.00). A Portuguese Frigate can be seen with a lynx on board, in front of the Praca do Comercio.

Canadian is there and with a helo on board. It was fully open around 16.00 and with some difficulties the Sea King could be seen, not read (so I cannot confirm it is 12405). Turk at the other side was still closed at 15.15.

There were several Portugese ships playing around, did not check for Lynxes (as I have them all).

No, it is about a 20 minute walk to the west from Cais do Sodre. Just keep following the river front as best you can. You will pass a shipyard that blocks your view for a while. Right after that you can make a turn to the left and pass a small footbridge across the water. That will get you to the (old) cruise ship terminal and the Canadian is right there. You will need to walk along the container storage area to get a view into the back of the ship. Just keep walking, it will come into view at some point (if the hangar is open of course). And you will need a binocular to see the helicopter.
