Air band receiver usage in France

HI,

can anybody advice me on the situation about usage of an air band receiver in France? Is it allowed these days? Is there a difference between mil and civ? I am planning to go to Normandy.

Hi Marcovh,

For civil use there is no problem at all in France. For mil, it pretty depends on the AB you are practising and your attitude... but most of the time french gendarmerie doesn't matter. I could just advise you to avoid the use of a band receiver in Ochey out off an important military exercise period (which means a lot of spotter, so they are more friendly).

If you are planning to go to Normandy for the 6th June celebrations, no worries .
