Or you wait till after all displays and then walk to the runway to see the planes that already depart. Usually with a good view since the crowds have gone. Wait untill they almost kick you off the base and then go to the car. By then the traffic jams are already a bit smaller.

On both ends of the runway there are great spots (one site facing the sun though), but when there is an event, I think these locations are closed, at least for the cars. The biggest downside of volkel is that hardly anything flies there. Most of the times it's 4 F16s on a day and that's it

Guys, focus! This is the topic about next years open day (way too early, if you ask me); what Zonan refers to in his post is the day-to-day operational situation, not the airshow! Dutch airshows in the past were actually quite good; what will happen next year is something we are likely to find out in about nine months time!

I never heard anyone from abroad complain about Dutch shows. Will be good for you I guess. Only thing could be weather interfering. But he..... It's the Netherlands!
