Blue Flag 2017 and some Hatzerim (Pics)
Last Wednesday we visted Ovda for the Blue Flag 2017. In the 1 hour and ten minutes we spent near the runway were able to catch the following (pic #12 is my favorite, a 44 year old F-15!):

After we got in the bus again we had to wait for different reasons, from the bus photography was ok;

After the bus dropped us at the gate we went to the civil terminal;

Some spotters went back to the civil terminal a day later and shot some very nice pics during the afternoon mission. The day we visited Ovda there was night flying and we stayed at the parking of the civil terminal until after sunset. Here are the results of some experiments, not the best quality but who cares ;

Around 19.00 we left for Beer Sheva to try to catch some T-346's at Hatzerim the next day, and more important to visit the museum storage of which many aircraft will be scrapped soon.

Fantastic pictures from Blue Flag !

What timing do you expect for scrapping the stored aircraft ? I still want to go to this excellent museum in Hatzerim to see the stored Phantom's Skyhawks etc.

I think you must be really quick but I have no official info but someone said that the auction will take place this week. A lot of aircraft had crosses and lot number painted on them. About 15 aircraft are already piled up (Alouettes, Harvards, Dorniers etc).johan12 wrote:Fantastic pictures from Blue Flag !

On Wednesday it was ok to stay at the civil terminal parking after the visit (pics of the C-130, Gulf and nightshots). The day before it was more difficult.
And for the museum questions: not all aircraft are marked with a cross or a lot number. Non of the Kfirs have a cross and (i guess) half of the Phantoms and Skyhawks have them. It looks like they tried to sell the Phantoms before. Every Phantom in the last revetment has a sign (see pic of the Phantom) with its history written. Just to make sure the right sign goes with the appropriate aircraft the serials are "freshly" painted on the intakes.
I can put more pics later.

These pictures are more than welcome
Hopefully some Phantoms will be saved for the axe
