Viewing is good from the enclosed terrace at KLIA1 but you need to be on the ball to see Air Asia aircraft landing/departing on the far runway. Electronic spotting is a must to put a dent in the Air Asia fleet. A few sockets are available for charging gadgets and the wi-fi worked well. Toilets and a good selection of places for food are within 2-3 minutes walk of the viewing area.
Photography is reasonable in the afternoon when the sun has moved round.

We were departing from KLIA2 with Air Asia on the Monday and took the train between terminals. I believe there`s a free bus transfer which takes longer and would entail going out in the heat!
KLIA2 is pretty impressive for a low cost terminal and once airside you can spot from the bridge which crosses over the taxiway.

Initially we thought 3 days would be too long but it worked out well as we did a trip to Subang on the Sunday morning. Subang was easily reached by bus and the bus station is well sign posted within the terminal.

The logs below will give an idea of what to expect in addition to the many 9M- aircraft. A few pictures can be viewed at https://www.flickr.com/photos/gsairpics/
