US CH-47 A/A?

Post by Hermolaus »

On adsbexchange I can see now (15-SEP-2017, 1310Z) a group of three US CH-47s going from Germany to Poland. These are:

Code: Select all

R08167	sq.3625	H47	14-08167	AE59C8 United States
R08164	sq.3637	H47	14-08164	AE59C5 United States
R08162	sq.3633	H47	14-08162	AE59C3 United States
Unfortunately I have no experience on US army helicopters as a radio monitoring person.
Could anyone give me a hand an tell me where to search for their A/A freq?
Should I search within UHF mil airband or VHF mil airband or civil airband or rather 30-80MHz band?
TIA!

Kinda hard to pin them down they use some of all the bands you mentioned, they have a couple of common freqs in the 240.00 range on MIL UHF also numerous use high VHF 138.00 to 150.00 and low band 38.00 to 80.00 most of the low band are FM Mode.

Pilotman6012, thank you for your reply! Was trying both UHF and VHF mil bands yesterday. No joy this time, though...
