I think the local holiday is for beieren region only and somebody 'assumed' it to be applicable for the whole of germany...
the NOTAM for neubug states for today: Aerodrome closed...

A generally very reliable local source (name withheld), who was right about Neuburg but obviously wrong about Wittmund. Sorry for that.

When I was at Wittmund 14-08 only 2 Eufies and 2x2 Skyhawks. So its not always like this, although they announced increased flying at Wittmund, so perhaps this is it ...

All Eufi wings are saving flighthours during August for their Brilliant Arrow participation. That´s the reason for low flying!
