Visiting the Army 2017 at Kubinka next month, but wondering whether anyone has visited before and has experience of visiting the nearby Alabino Training Ground where they do the live firing? Does anyone know if it is possible to photograph the aircraft easily if on base, or are they too far away to get decent images?
Regards, Mike

Re: Info on Army 2017 Kubinka/Alabino
Last year the busses commuted between the various locations. We took the bus from the entrance of the airbase to the train station and jumped into another bus for either the range or Patriot expo center.
Photography on base is not far away... see: https://www.4aviation.nl/reports/report-russia-2016-2/ Static is close, sometimes too close...
You are facing the sun (on a sunny day) for most of the day for the flying activities.
But... you will love it there! Have fun!

Thank you, but I really need to know if Alabino is worth the visit. Are you close enough to get shots of the live firing, or too far away to make good shots?
