C-130 Crashes In Mississippi

Not sure what unit yet,still early,aircraft left Memphis and went down in LeFlore County,Mississippi,which is south of Memphis,reports of large fire and fatalities from firefighters that responded to the scene.More than likely a USMC aircraft,official statement from USMC Spokesperson Capt Sarah Burns says a aircraft was involved in a mishap on Monday Evening.

VMGR-152 are based at Futenma,Okinawa, so this airplane was a long way from home at the time if it's demise.

Latest media reports indicate a mid-air structural failure at around 20,000 ft. 16 POB all killed.

VMGR-152 are based at Futenma,Okinawa, so this airplane was a long way from home at the time if it's demise.
VMGR-152 is based at Iwakuni for some years already. But yes, a long way from home. Every body R.I.P.

A memory lapse. ( it is the small hours here).

A mid-air explosion/ structural failure appear to be the primary cause of this loss.

The facebook thread indicates the crashed airplane was from VMGR-452, who fly the KC-130T model.
