I believe all the hassle is because of my list I published yesterday evening. I compiled this list using this topic and a few FB groups. In one group the Belgian Herc. was also mentioned (I believe one was expected?) or maybe I even intepreted the post wrong. Nevertheless, I put the herc in my list, so: my mistake!

Not to less, AmericanSoldier15U thank you for your posts. Thanks to these I could determine if Geilenkirchen was worth it for me. (I mean, from the 700+ people in place, you - and a few others - took the time to post your observations). I went this morning and made a few 'new ones'.

That said, I believe it's best to move on now and leave the hassle behind. Have a good one!

In the list of Stephan, only the 33 is missing.. the SF260D arrived wednesday,as mentioned in this thread.

Did not see either TBM700 in Sonny1's list, which I was referring to. Must have missed the post which mentioned arrival of ST40, my mistake!

Another correction to the same list: C295M 0454 was mentioned as on the ground Friday evening, but it left again Friday afternoon.

When leaving the base, there was a dark green fuselage of an aircraft (possibly CH-53 or a C-160) in an old dispersal to the right of the road. Anyone with more info on that one?

Noticed the frame as well, to me it looked like a CH-53 fuselage...

Passed it today when my car was checked by security and is a CH-53 indeed. No serial visible.

Be carefull tomorrow : we may expect some problems on the way to/from Geilenkirchen when coming from/to the south as the Tour de France will come very close to Geilenkirchen, with roads closed :

Can anyone tell me how teh security looks like? Any way to smuggle a scanner inside and listen to some traffic?
I noticed a reply from another member as well about the tour de france...
So for tomorrow, I have access tickets for the open days.. but Do you enter the base on the Dutch side or German side?
And idea as well where to park your car? Any shuttles or?
How does the flight line look line? Does anyone has any more information for me, Thanks in advance.

Official, there are now bags allowed. So it will be hard to smuggle an scanner on the field.
But there is now reason to have an scanner inside, you not will see any flight-ops, the base ist closed on both days...

Official Annoncement was, that there is no flying display during the open days, only exception was the spotterday yesterday.

Entry was a disaster today. Car parks full. Queing for hours for security checks. EVERY PERSON is searched.
Arrived at 10. Entered base at 14.
