Looks like the USAFE C-130 already om his way home..... According to ADBS it's now near Ramstein.

That's right, departed for Ramstein after the failed morning drop. Callsign was HKY82.

What was the yellow patch on the roof of one of the german transalls?

For ops in warmer climate. Keeps the temperature low in the cockpit. At least, that's what I've heard

On my pictures I can't see a yellow patch. Transall 50+42 had a new piece of skin above the cockpit windows in primer color. But it looks to me you don't mean that.

The yellow paint is what he meant, cause he's talking of a 'patch', you're thinking of a 'badge'. ;-)

That was what i ment. So new piece of skin in primer. The other c-160d could also use a new paintjob :-)
