Re: Nellis AFB KLSV 2016
Now now, Bennie, what about your visit somewhere else where the "arctic" Scooter was spotted in a previous life?
Apart from that, anyone planning a trip to LV this week should watch out you don't spill your coffee when you arrive at the early morning RP to see no ACs, DCs or AVs, almost all of them are in the revetments! 10 each of the Guards are visible (early, or late) from Cheyenne, the AVs involve some walking around; bear in mind it was a pleasant 119 degrees in the shade at the Speedway today, but there was no shade I could find
Can't give specifics but a 5th BUFF arrived, LA004, and another KC135R. Also, there are two E-3s, and an E-8 (0122). The VKs are flying two per daytime mission, with three rolled out, other three hidden away in the shed at the western end of the ramp. The two Growler CAGs were not on the ramp today, ditto the two special marked Langley Raptors, perhaps departed. There are five Hills and a TX Viper in the flag ramp area, but not participants. Another HL or two were noted at Tucson earlier, log to follow.
BTW Southwest seem to have computer issues meaning many delays and cancellations, so air travel in the west is chaotic at best. Fingers crossed I get to Vance .....

Re: Nellis AFB KLSV 2016
the HLs are part of the ones being transferred to Nellis from Hill, seen 8 so far. the TX is one still here after last years runway crash, 85-1546. the other, 85-1549 is on a flatbed in the NE corner of the base. both reappeared a couple weeks agoStarman wrote:There are five Hills and a TX Viper in the flag ramp area, but not participants.

Re: Nellis AFB KLSV 2016
Starman, the HLs out on Tuesday/Wednesday were:
4th FS yellow: 88-0436, 88-0486, 88-0533
421st FS black: 88-0503, 89-2149
The TX next to them is 85-1546, another (presumably 85-1549) was up in the bomb dump area on Tuesday.
The E-3s are 76-1604 and 82-0006, both red.
There seem to be 11 DCs, 86-0369 can be added to EOR1s list.
Suspect the 'missing' F-22s are in a hangar, there were mutterings of maintenance issues during the exercise (AC only managed to get three up on Tuesday, out of 10!) The Cougar CAG Growler flew on Tuesday, but there was no sign of the Star Warriors one, although apparently it reappeared as soon as I left!
There are six HH-60Gs on the east side, reportedly from DM and Moody.
Also U-2S 80-1070 is lurking in the DoE hangar, but comes out mid afternoon (around 3) and then flies at night, been taking off at 8.30.
