Good chances outside during arrival days, police is strict if you park by the road, all exits to fields usually closed on friday, sadly the best part outside (in the north) where you don't have any fences are always closed in the past 2 years. If you want to take photos on thusrday and friday, leave your car somewhere in Sliac than you have to walk.

Inside the base after 13:00-14:00 light conditions are not good, but luckily the organizers always keep that in mind, and planes who fly for example on the first day morning, usually fly the next day in the afternoon and visa versa. Heli displays are always in the middle, some taxiing are close to the crowd in the north part. Since it is a civilian airport as well, low cost flights happen during the show, 2-3 flights if I remember. Last year there were a lot of people, I mean really lot...if you wanted to buy food/drink maybe you had to wait 15-20 or 30 minutes. I figured it out sometimes you have to walk, cause there were small cafeterias.

I usually arrive around 7:00-7:30 to the gates, after 8:00 the crowd starts to move inside the base. I always see people from Netherlands, Germany and the UK as well.

If you think about the language, local people know english (not perfect but they know it), some poeple can speak german as well.

If you want to go to Sliac by car, remember that all motorway vignettes in Slovakia are now ELECTRONIC, SINCE THE 1TH OF JANURAY!!!!

A little and important info I received!

In the north part, where the radars are located, the road that goes there has received a "No entry" traffic sign. Alos, the good spotting place from there was blocked with the same fence as in the other parts of the base.
