I think (but of course my opinion doesn't count), that for the morning wave the best would be to be allowed to take pictures both to the south (to the taxiway) and for everyone who wish to have take-off pictures, also to the north (runway - with the sun opposite ...). For the landing the sun will be no problem (at 12:00 she is on the runway axis).
Re: NATO TIGER MEET 2016 Zaragoza
Maybe there will be no sun, if you look at
http://www.worldweatheronline.com/zarag ... on/es.aspx
you will see forecasted for
19may16, clouds 98% (and light rain)
20may16, clouds 67%
21may16, clouds 100%

For the benefit of Mr. Kite, there will be a show tonight on trampoline

Come on. Not everyone is interested in boring taxishots. I am really really glad about that spot close to the runway. There will be some good opportunities for great afterburner actionshots during take off. And I think that most of the photographers prefer actionshots instead of boring taxishots. Keep in mind that it will get hot in the afternoon, so you will get big problems with heat haze when you are shooting with 400mm+ from far distance on the Runway! Please stay at home when you are not satisfied with the provided spot!Photoforce wrote:Dear Don,dverhees wrote:Hi Volkert, I'll make your good suggestion when I get there next weekend. There are somethings where one doesn't want to ask too early. Cheers, Don
After my message many colleague photographers gave their reaction to me by private e-mails. The current position for photographers is nog good, not for landing photographers but also not for taxiway photographers. They said to me that if there are no extra opportunities many photographers will cancel their visit. So on behalf of my colleagues I reconstructed the map which was added the the Nato Tiger Meet website. Of course it depends on where is the wind coming from. But during both winds their is a easy solution (see attachment) to fulfill all our wishes. If I compare it with Konya the organization can easily copy to program for Zaragoza. In blue is the taxiway opportunity similar as it was in Konya when the aircraft stopped in front of the photographers.
There is still time for a good solution.
Greetings,
Volkert.
That offered spot by the NTM Spotterday organization was the trigger to bock my flight to Spain. I will stay at home when it will be changed to a boring Spot 500meters far away from the Runway at a sleepy Taxiway.

Re: NATO TIGER MEET 2016 Zaragoza
Dear Don
Just a dumb question maybe but.... At point 8 of the rules for spotters they say Florescent Vest. Is ok both yellow or orange.... I have plenty of oranges that I do not use and no yellow ones and would like not to spend money on another florescent vest I do not use..... (the question is only because someone told me it MUST be yellow but from the form it is not clear)
thanks

I don't think the colour is that important. http://natotigers.org/tiger-news/attent ... day-update simply mentions a fluorescent vest. I would think yellow or orange will do, only the TLP press/spotter day issued blue ones (non fluorescent) would not be acceptable, I think.

Re: NATO TIGER MEET 2016 Zaragoza
Question for everyone,
Is the open house open for us spotters or only for family and friends of base personnel?
Will we be able to get on base or would pictures be only available from off base?
What are the flying times?
Thanks for any help and information!! See you guys on Friday!

According to a picture on natotigers.org, French Mirage 2000D 627 is painted with a white tiger trailing a huge Spanish flag on the tail and on the wings... It also has nine marks on top of the tail to remember the French victims of the Albacete disaster in 2015.

PAPEA is the Parachute Display Team of the Spanish Army. Over Torrejon in 2014 they used a CASA212 as their mount.
And ETESDA are the dog handlers of the Air Force
