There has already been lots of photos published so I will keep it short ... actually the rest is not worth showing . These have been made in the morning when the sun was still shining. The afternoon was pretty bad in terms of lights and temperature (freezing cold facing on the hill facing north wind Brrrr ...)

Forum rules
This is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum. Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post. In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.). Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so. |

Very crisp pictures. Bravo. Interesting to see the different types of Sidewinders (AIM-9M and AIM-9X) on wingtips the Finnish Hornet.
Hoping for good weather tomorrow as I'm planning to drive of to Friesland myself.

Mooie platen. Vanaf welke plek en met hoeveel mm is die F15 en die F18 geschoten? En welke baan was in gebruik?
Re: Leeuwarden (EHLW) 19-04-2016, Frisian Flag
F-18 is geschoten vanaf de spottersplek 05 kant. Die kwam beroerd uit voor de baan.

Noem het maar beroerd dat mogen er meerdere doen!

Yes, the F-18 started to swing on Final for rwy 05; I do not know why ... but this was pretty nice for most of us out there on the butte Unfortunately this was the only one who swang on that day to my knowledge. The other shots (400mm) were taken on the old railroad near Spot #1.

The Finns seem to make a habit of this. On the 14th they pulled the same stunt while landing on 23. It almost seemed they were turning for 27 and then realized that was not the active See:

Guy at the fence told me that one of them made the same mistake on Monday last week. Curious detail: bug involved is always the HN-401...
