"The organization committee has been established, and invitations for participation are well under way.

Today we've received confirmation from the Croatian air force (MiG-21, Mi-171 & "Wings of Storm").

Among other invited, at this point we would like to point out the following NATO countries: Hungary, Italy, Austria, Belgium, France, Netherlands, Romania, Slovenia, Finland, Greece, Switzerland, Spain & USA."

Although the 2015 air show season just finished a few weeks ago, more and more infos are coming up for the next season. The Croatian International Airshow Team has already announced a couple of updates for the Varazdin airshow.

One of the surprises of the 2015 was the return of the airshow at Varazdin airport. The town is close to the Slovenian and Hungarian border and it is easily accessible from both countries.

We also attended the show - CLICK HERE FOR OUR REPORT - and honestly we felt that such an airport with that size, had a good program!

IMPORTANT NOTE: The CIAV 2016 date is being changed due to overlapping with the Budapest Red Bull Air Race ... the new dates are pushed one week later: 23rd & 24th July 2016.

Croatian: 23-24 July
For Serbia: I heard there will be one open day like only...but that is from a Serbian spotter a few months ago. Maybe in September.

One MiG-21 will be on static display at the airport. News says it will be Kockica. F-16's from Aviano will probably make a fly-by over the airshow.

I still hope for more participating aircrafts as the organizer of the show has written some weeks ago "We expect more confirmations, which should arrive in the following days" but until now no update...

I talked with the organizers, sadly the planed Belgian F-16 and the Italian Typhoon will not participate.
Also there were talks that a Slovakian MiG-29 will come as well and Croatia will send one MiG-21 to Sliac later, but as I was told that Slovakia canceld that idea.
