Farnborough 11-17 July 2016

Post by Fred »

The organisers of the Farnborough airshow announced today that they are possibly expecting no fewer than five F-35s this year. They mention the pair of USMC aircraft also attending Fairford as well as an RAF example. The remaining pair are not specified.

You can go in on the Trade Day for a price (last time about £30 per day), visit the Farnboro web site for details, or if you work or know someone in the aircraft business, that's another way of attending the Trade Days.

According to the Farnborough website the other two should be USAF F-35A's.

1/2 Sorry to announce we will not be displaying @FIAFarnborough this year, although @BAESystemsAir will be providing a Typhoon role display.
...when RIAT Fairford one year did not get the RAF Typhoon display BAe offered a jet with a lot of outside stores hanging underneath.

With all those (dummy) missiles and bombs under its' wings and fuselage it did quite a good and interesting flying display too... 8)

Interesting!! On their Facebook page they only talk about a European tour in 2017, so is this correct? Would be very nice though!

Back then, they wanted to come in 2016. As crowdfunding was very sssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllloooooooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwww, they opted to postpone to 2017. Haven't heard how funding is going for '17 though.
