Campia Turzii Open House

Post by mungo74 »

Like every year the romanian bases open their gates in late July. Here some impressions from the Air Show in Campia Turzii. More from this event and the Open House in Otopeni with th Flotilla 90 you will find here: http://www.classic-spotting.de/spotting ... air-force/

Great ! Always nice to watch old Migs.
By the way do you know how many Mig-21 and IAR-99 are still actually flying ?

There are 36 Mig´s activ on both bases (Campia Turzii and Fetesti). Next year the first F-16´s will arrive from Portugal. The number of the IAR-99 should be at least 20 at the base in Boboc.

Hi,

Indeed a nice report!

Actually the number of MiG's is lower. Both Campia and Fetesti (based at MK at the moment) have 10 Lancer-C and 3 Lancer-B each.

As for the IAR-99s, 10 IAR-99 Soim are now based at Bacau with About 9 IAR-99 Standard Boeing based at Boboc. An additional Soim might still be based at Craiova for testing.

Regards, Paul
