REQ. Spotting conditions US Southeast

Hi all,
In May I will be in the southeast of the USA.
Does anyone has some spotting information (photo conditions) concerning the following airfields:
* Moody AFB, GA
* NAS Jacksonville, FL
* Robins AFB, GA
* Charleston AFB, SC
* Pope AFB, NC
* Seymour-Johnson AFB, NC
* Elizabeth City - US Coast Guard Air Station (anyone perhaps a PAO email address??)

(my information is quite old, and have not been able to verify whether it is still acurate)

* Moody AFB

Landing shots only. A/c are a bit high.

* NAS Jacksonville, FL

You should be able to make some shots of a/c while they are landing.

* Seymour-Johnson AFB, NC

Info from an (as yet) unfinished airfield guide:

General
Seymour Johnson AFB is a vast military complex located in the middle nowhere, also known as Goldsboro, North Carolina. People in the town will defintely notice you if you drive a car which has a number plate out of another state, as they do not get many tourists or visitors from abroad. Seymour Johnson is the place to go if you like F-15 Strike Eagles. No less than four squadrons with F-15E's + a squadron of KC-135 tankers. You will see a whole platform packed with aircraft as about 90 Eagles can be found here. The base is ideal for spotting purposes. Good locations alongside the runway and sun in your back almost the whole day. Local police will tell you to stay off the gates but wont complain much about photography.

Old NC111
The best locations are all on the south side of the base where there are four spots to be found alongside Runway 08/26. The first one is the one at the Old NC111, a small road through the forrest. Take the Forest RD exit from the 111 and follow this until the split. Turn right on the Old NC111 and follow this to the end. The view here is quite limited. You have a good view on the runway and good pictures of the aircraft lining up can be made, but a broader view to the left and right is not possible because of the trees surrounding this spot. Another limitation is the high fence, which makes it necessary to take shots through the holes of it.

I know this is a very very old thread, but have you been at NAS Jacksonville and was it possible to spot there?

It is easy to spot the fixed-wing aircraft at NAS Jacksonville. Just go to the car park of the shopping plaza at the north-west corner of the airfield. You will be able to read most of the aircraft. The furthest ones depend on haze - evening is the best time.
The helicopters use the bay area and cannot be read from outside.

Did Pope & SJ in 1993... SJ is great (there were no sunsheds yet in 1993!), Pope was everything but great... Hardly any views from the outside possible (unless I didn't find the right spot..).. no ideas if airborne traffic is any good.

If this would be my list i'd add Tyndall AFB and Beaufort NAS to the list. And maybe also Hurlbert Field, Eglin and Eglin Museum.

Does anyone know if it's possible to get to the gategaurds at NAS Jacksonville since their at the base itself https://www.google.nl/maps/@30.2250701, ... a=!3m1!1e3 (and in general at USAF, NAS etc. bases?)

Hi Niels,

I'd go for the visitor ctr, near the main gate. We had access to the base in 2007, but were escorted to thf base hotel and we were N O T allowed to photograph anything, including Gateguards. But that was back then...
Any luck with jax's PAO?
