Niederstetten Hueys
Forum rules
This is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum. Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post. In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.). Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so. |

Niederstetten Hueys
There was a small spotterday of Transporthubschrauberregiment 30 at Niederstetten last week.
Some of the last flying German Hueys, the special coloured ones are no longer in service.
Some more images on our website

Some nice shots indeed!
But why wasn't this event known....? Or did I miss something?

Well, I think it's not fair to blame GME on not making this info public before posting his photos. We do not know the scale of this little spotters day. I guess it was organized on a rather adhoc basis by a few people for a few people.
Man power for such things is a critical ressource in the German Forces. So let's be glad that GME shared his nice pictures with us.
By the way, we all have means of getting to know about such photo opportunities. Simply write to the public info or call them. I am sure that you as a sincere aviation enthusiast know how to contact them.
That said by another sincere aviation enthusiast who served 40 years in the GAF
Best wishes
Herbie

Re: Niederstetten Hueys
Sounds simple, but you can hardly expect spotters to write or call to every military base in Europ every month, asking if by any chance there is a spottersday planned....Simply write to the public info or call them.

How about contacting the respective command? It's as easy as that.......
Of course you have to know the commands, but as I wrote before real hardcore fans will know.....

The easiest way is to share the info on the Scramble forum, like most users do!

Re: Niederstetten Hueys
Having attended the (very well organised) Niederstetten Spottertag in 2011, I likely would not have attended this time, so jealousy cannot be my motivation.
It just annoys me that a lot of people consume info published here, but keep valuable info for themselves!
Case closed for me.

Re: Niederstetten Hueys
The pictures are nice indeed, but as Gerard says jealousy is not the issue here.@GME nice pictures, don't worry about a couple of guys being jealous
I guess wether he has to worry about it or not depends on his consience

And so you see, not everything what you see is what it is......patrick dirksen wrote:The pictures are nice indeed, but as Gerard says jealousy is not the issue here.@GME nice pictures, don't worry about a couple of guys being jealous

I guess some people draw an early conclusion.
