Yelahanka 2015
Sorry it took a while, but here is an impression of the bi-annual show at Yelahanka AFS in Bangalore, India.
1. New naval version of the Tejas was probably only ready just-in-time, it was not included in the flying programme.
2. David & Goliath...
3. The Air force Tejas did its flight demo twice a day.
4. Both on the wednesday and the thursday afternoon a C-17 landed for a short visit, luckily they sent two different airframes
5. A personal highlight for me, although only on static display, is this Indian AF MiG-21 basking in the evening sun.
6. Just like two years ago, USAF F-16's were present...
7. ..but this year the USAF also sent two interesting F-15s for static display (although 84-043 has a Bitburg history if I remember well)
8. I had never seen these Swedish tiger girls before.
9. The USAF provided a C-17 display with a Hawaii bird
10. As usual, good old Alouettes were flying around with VIPs
11. Other VIPs were flown in using the Embraers (several were present)
12. Time to move to the operational side of the airfield - this old Mi-8 won't be flying any time soon
13. Several Antonovs and Avros were parked on the far side as well
14. Quite a few Dhruvs were operating from this area
15 + 16 + 17. Flanker taxiing back after another display
18. Panic at the flightline! Tejas wants to taxi back to his parking spot, but two cars (including one carrying high ranking air force officers) are blocking the taxi track. They simply parked right there for a walk on the flighline. Luckily the Tejas jock simply waited for 5 minutes for them to clear the taxi track...only in India!
19. This looks better
20. Too many Mi-8s parked on the flighline and inside/around the hangars.
That's all for now, will try to post a few more later...
Rikkie.

Great photos and thanks for sharing. Just a small point and I do appreciate that English may not be your first language, but biannual means that it happens twice a year. The word for every 2 years is biennial. But once again, many thanks for sharing

Re: Yelahanka 2015
Here's a few more:
1. Indian equivalent of "the Grasshoppers":
2. In total, around 30+ Hips could be logged.
3. Two PC-7s were parked on the flightline, one performed its demo twice a day.
4. Two years ago KW3555 was present, luckily a new airframe this year.
5. And another Embraer coming in to pick up some VIPs.
6. Look at the different air inlets with these two Tejas:
7. With laundry hanging from this old Hip, and people around I almost had the impression a family actually lives inside?! No, that can't be...
8. And why use an expensive truck to clean the taxi track?
That's all folks,
Rickie

Very nice pictures, you don't see those Indian fighters often on the forums so this is welcome!
