Had to go to Koblenz and Nörvenich is on the route:
Passing overhead was this Transall. Anyone for an ID?

In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.). Do you have a time for that crossing C-160?! If it was around 1400-1445lt it was 50+61 from LTG61. Maybe you could brighten it up a bit to verify whether it is a German one or not

This was at 1219LT. No markings to be seen except the white markings below the wing, behind the nose and on the tail.

This is a Luftwaffe Transall with UN-markings (probably for the MALI ops). Perhaps 50+56 or 50+36 from Wunstorf?

Thanks all.
I can't quite determine if these are UN markings but it is a plausible idea.herbie wrote:This is a Luftwaffe Transall with UN-markings (probably for the MALI ops).

As far as I know only C-160D ESS (with ECM equippment) are being used in AFG and MALI. And the TRALL on your photo is one of those!

Mystery solved:

Looks like it was indeed 50+61.

50+61 has made with this partly removed UN mks. an night stop at Deci 15/16.07.Tigerspoon wrote:Do you have a time for that crossing C-160?! If it was around 1400-1445lt it was 50+61 from LTG61. Maybe you could brighten it up a bit to verify whether it is a German one or not
