Just my 2 cents, if someone working for the Airforce and mentioned in a rapport about a plane crash, why would he be alone during the interview. I would imagine that an investigation would start with an official request to the Dutch Airforce to cooperate. The guy was there for work. And if the RNLAF is willing to coorperate he would not be on his own and you would also expect that an interview would happen at an embassy or a building of the MOD. Not saying that he is quilty as I don't know the details but I still think it is a weird story.

His name probably was in that investigation report because the mascotte of the demo team also 'died' during that crash? If I stand correctly?

The interview has been held long after Vaneker left the Air Force. At that time, he was simply a member of the public. That may have contributed to him not having a "chaperone" during the conversation.
Anyway, it all boils down to him being or not being in possession of state secrets after he left the Air Force and trying to make money out of it. What caught the prosecutor's attention was him being in financial difficulties as he had been trying to unsuccesfully start a business thereby losing money. That's how it all started.

I did not know he already left the Airforce by then. So who am I to judge if I do not know the details. This story will probably fade during the years.
