US West Coast Holiday with some spotting (pt 3,Bu.131 A2A)
Hello,
In the past 3,5 weeks I was on a Camper trip with my girlfriend in Western US. We visited a lot of National Parks and cities. To keep the relationship smooth we also did some spotting. In California we visited some musea and El Centro. In Arizona AMARG, Yuma and Williams. In Utah and Nevada I mainly saw a lot of rocks and a C-146.
I start with one of the highlights of the trip. In Yuma the WTI was taking place and the platforms were completely filled with a/c. I did not count on a WTI but is was a nice extra. Later on I will put pics from the other fields:

US West Coast Holiday with some spotting (part 2,El Centro)
After Yuma we visted El Centro on october 2nd. There was a lot of activity and about 50 a/c on the platforms. Not as much as Yuma but since photography is great in El Centro it is definately worth a stop. Especially from the rooftop of a camper .

US West Coast Holiday with some spotting (pt 3,Bu.131 A2A)
I am working on my log Melchior . I also hope to get some info on the Mi.24 Benno, a few people visited the base and read some serials. I do not know if they got anything on the Mi. I didn't.
Exactly a week ago we were invited to join a formationflight with some Buckers. It was great but very very hard to take some descent pics. My girlfriend is sitting in "A-76". I was flying in a Czech build Bucker 131 N104A.
We flew from Gillespie to Brown Field and back. When we landed 6 F/A-18's were waiting for us to clear the runway (one F/A-18B .

I think it's one of the 2 MI24 of the Cold War Air Museum.

Tu154, they are not from the CWAM. The museum has two former Bulgarian Hinds, andTu154 wrote:Nice pictures!

as far as I know, they still have some trace of these markings.
The hind(s) flying out of MCAS Yuma is an operational example out of Bragg.

Looks to me as the 74-22270 from the OPTEC Threat Support Activity,Tu154 wrote:Nice pictures!
