Mr. Starman.
Is it possible that you logged A-4N 399? To the best of my knowledge it is std at the museum.See here:

One of the revetments appeared to have lost a number of A-4s recently, and indeed, the 399 was not noted by Mr Sjoerd on his honeymoon (maybe his eyes were elsewhere!) perhaps some 4Aviationers could confirm the sutuation...

There was indeed a lot of scrap iron in one of the revetments. Some fuel probes and windscreens were all that left.

I did not note it during my visit in February. Although 2 rear sections were not identified (covered up). Could it have been these?wweasel wrote:tailsection of 399 was in Revetment 1 Hatzerim museum last April (with 4 Avn tour)

Re: Ovda AFB Israel (LLOV) 2012 Mil
Seen here stored last week was an awfull lot of Israelian hardware.
Besides the airframes in the south storage (as mentioned also by Sjoerd) a lot more were seen in an area fenced of by walls.
See the images and do the counting yourself...
The south storage contained a lot of Phantoms, Kfirs, A-4's and 3 H-500's
The area surrounded by walls contained, Phantoms, F-16's, 1 F-15, 1 Kfir, several Tzukits and several helicopters (some looking like Cobra's and/or AH-64 Any clue on the white ones?)
Also noted was a F-16A at the fire department, and a F-15 preserved at some buildings in the middle of the field.
Sorry but no numbers taken.
Cheers Ron

Re: Ovda AFB Israel (LLOV) 2012 Mil
Hi,
Maybe this is belongs to the "wreck & relics" section, but since the photos and overview are already here, it might be best to continue here with the LOG for cross references.
On May-8th I have been to Ovda (close to the adventure trial) and had a better chance to check out the storage areas, still from a distance though! At 6-7am the light is good for at least the centre compound and not too much heat haze. The Southern compound is also viewable, but the distance is just too far to read off all. Best would be to check those from road 12 in the PM, just before the sun sets.
In total over 170 stored/preserved aircraft can be logged at this very interesting base! I have compiled an overview of only the storage areas also including positions. It is compiled also with some help of others and an earlier LOG by me in 2012. I hope to start up something which could help us all. I know some of you have been to Israel lately (65th aniversery) and some will also go later this year when Ovda has a large exercise planned. This could be helpfull and I hope the you will share your logs here too.
Serials between brackets are assumed from other reports. I do think some of the Southern compound might not be correct!
