Spottingtrip to the UK (MACH Loop, RAF Valley) [PHOTOHEAVY]

Post by Sven van Roij »

As some of you may know, my father and I go spotting together each year. After visiting Switzerland, Austria, Germany and Italy, we decided this year to drive to western England. Objective: visiting de Machynlleth Loop. Mainly to photograph from the tops of the Bwlch, CAD West and Corris Corner. We were VERY lucky with both the weather and flying activity.

I would like to thank a few friends and spotters who helped us during the trip, a special thanks goes to Iwan for the detailed information!

HEMS of Mid Wales

17. On our way back we stopped at the HEMS of Mid Wales. This team flies with the EC135T2e, which entered service in November 2012. We spend about an hour with the dedicated and interested crew. Find more information about this HEMS service over here: http://www.walesairambulance.com/

RAF Mildenhall
At RAF Mildenhall there were few flying activities due to a national bankholiday in the UK. Just a few shots made.

Beautiful shots! I am amazed though to see the "bubbling" on top of the wings of one or two of the Eagles going through the loop. Never seen anything like it!

Nice pictures!
Nice to see F15c do some low flying i guess that is not normal?
Maybe F15E pilots keeping current?
Compromise is failure.

Great set but the area you visited is called 'Wales', it certainly isn't Western England!
