Does anyone have any experience with using this converter with a Nikon 70-200F2.8 lens, good or bad?
Many thanks

Re: Nikon 1.7 TCII converter
I do, it is a mediocre solution. it would save the money for a Nikkor 300/F4. The TC1.7E II shines with the 300mm/2,8 VR II prime making it a very handy 500 mm
Hope this helps

If you want to use a teleconverter, go for the 1.4 by Nikon. I have been using that one for just over three years now with the 70-200 F2.8 and it's a brilliant combination.

With 70-200 2.8 and TC 1.7. It could be worse...

Re: Nikon 1.7 TCII converter
I have done the 1.4 on a 70-200 2.8 and my 300mm F4, both work great! Even the 1.7 worked great on my 300mm F4, ut haven´t tried it on my 70-200 2.8. The 300 mm F4 is a no brainer.....but i´m pretty sure the 1.7 will work very well on a 70-200 too

Re: Nikon 1.7 TCII converter
I used both 1.4 and 1.7 on my 300mm f4 (and d90), the 1.7 is really not bad at all but you will need more light for accurate focussing. As the difference between both (0.3x) is not that big I would go for the 1.4.
