Around this time the last flights would be made by this type in Afghanistan. But to see an Afghanistan Air Force C-27 in full markings at Ramstein of all places, especially now...Afghan AF C-27!!!

Hey, thanks
They were made from the east approach on the south side of the airfield, it's kinda hard to describe but you will find good photo positions at the scramble.nl "Where" page !

FlaRak,
Impressive pictures from landstuhl.
Have you've been lucky that those two blackhawks came in or have you' ve been waiting there for a long time? Did you used a little stairs to take those landing shots?
Thanks for sharing! Always nice to see those images from ramstein and landstuhl! Can't wait to go there again.
Ciao ralph

Hey Ralph,
I was quite lucky today I went to landstuhl at around 3 p.m and just when I finished to take shots of all birds on the ground 3 Black Hawks showed up for a full stop. Anyhow I just could catch one landing due to the fact that the security showed up and I stopped taking picture because I didn't wanted to get into trouble with them. I didn't used u ladder I made all shots trough the fence !

Did the security showed up inside or outside the fence and did the spoke to you? I m very curious about their reaction againsted you? I have been there three times now and never saw the security but i have to say that i m always very carefull. I m never walking along the fence and always try to make a hit and run picture.
Are there any persons on this forum who do have a negative experience with the security at landstuhl heliport?

Hey again,
no I haven't talked to them I also just made hit and run pictures , I just saw two soldiers walking along the fence coming towards my direction ( I don't even know if that was security or not). I just stopped taking pictures before they came so that they don't start to ask stupid questions or something. Anyhow, they just passed me and didn't said a word.

The C-27 has it's national markings painted out. Maybe withdrawn and on its way back to the US??
