NEWS: Summer Schedule 2013

Earlier today news was announced that KLM signed an agreement last week to wetlease (aircraft plus crew) one 747-400F to Etihad. I guess it means we will see the KLM 747F in stead of the Atlas 747F on the Etihad-cargoflights to Amsterdam. No date was mentioned yet but supect it to be started with the summerschedule.

Isn't Etihad replacing the B747 with a B777 on all flights to AMS starting February 1?

Nergens heb ik kunnen lezen dat het bij deze wetlease gaat om vluchten vanaf Amsterdam. Misschien deze vluchten wel vanaf AUH naar andere bestemmingen behalve Amsterdam uitgevoerd. Aangezien de 74 met enige regelmaat al op AUH te vinden is, moet dit redelijk eenvoudig met de 4 ERF kisten plus crew uit te voeren te zijn.

Some time ago Skyworks indicated they would raise the frequency on BRN-AMS-BRN in Summer 2013.
The new timetable has now been published = 9x/week:

- dep. 18:20 BRN - arr. 20:00 AMS SX 302 Do328 Thu, Fri, Sun

- dep. 12:55 AMS - arr. 14:30 BRN SX 301 Do328 Mon-Sat
- dep. 20:15 AMS - arr. 21:50 BRN SX 303 Do328 Friday
- dep. 20:35 AMS - arr. 22:10 BRN SX 303 Do328 Thursday
- dep. 20:40 AMS - arr. 22:15 BRN SX 303 Do328 Sunday

The 15 min. turn-around on Friday seems rather short!!

It has taken a few weeks since the announcement of the closer cooperation with ETIHAD, but KLM has now finally loaded a new schedule for AMS-AUH-BAH-AUH-AMS:

Starting 8 April 2013 KLM will operate the route AMS-AUH-BAH daily with A332 at a slightly later time than initially planned for Summer 2013, this is to improve/reduce connecting time at AUH:

- dep. AMS 11:05 - arr. AUH 19:35 KL437 332 Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Sat (OLD schedule)
- dep. AMS 11:35 - arr. AUH 20:05 KL437 332 Daily = NEW

- dep. AUH 01:00 - arr. AMS 06:05 KL438 332 Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sun (OLD schedule)
- dep. AUH 01:55 - arr. AMS 07:00 KL438 332 Daily = NEW

Interestingly the fastest schedule from AMS to Sydney, remains with China Southern/KL over Guangzhou (22hrs20min). The fastest travel time with KL/EY over AUH is 22h35m and 23h25m with MH/KL over KUL. The evening AMS-SYD on EY/EY via AUH takes 24h25m.

A good example of the strength of KL/EY is on AMS-Colombo, where the KL/EY travel time is 1h45m faster than EK via DXB.

Following KLM's withdrawal from the route, easyJet is now also reducing capacity on LPL-AMS-LPL in Summer 2013. EZY used to be operated the route 4x daily at one point, in Summer 2013 this will be down to 13x/week.

As of September 1st the flightr will be operated on Thursday and Sunday instead of Monday and Friday. The third flight will operate on Wednesday till and including August 28th and shift to Tuesday from September 3rd.

The latest KLM Summer 2013 planning, shows an additional B777 frequency on AMS-UIO-GYA-AMS to 6x/week starting 1 June.
