Log: GLV-V (low flying area) Oirschotse Heide 2013

Decided to start a topic to collect sightings of (military) helicopters using the GLV-V low flying area at the Oirschotse Heide.

This low flying area is situated a few kilomters north of Eindhoven airport (at the south of the Eindhovensedijk). This area is a military training area which is open to the public. There used to be signs with the rules to be followed by entering the area. I couldn't find these signs during my last visites.

I thinks the following rules aply for this area:

- Only park yoyr vehcile on designated parking places (the sign with the "P" on it) Do not block any (emergency) passages
- Do not interupt any military trainingactivities, avoid vehicles and military personell
- Try to avoid vehicle of tank tracks for your own safety (drivers sometimes have limited views), walk near the
egde of the forrest
- Do not take (motorised) vehicles into this area
- For your own safety it can be wise to wear a high-visibility vest
- In warm days take enought water and prepare yourself for a hard walk (al lot of sand an dust)
- If you have serious heath problems, please do not visit this area. The terain is hard to walk and some positions
are hard to reach for medical personell in case of an emergency.
- allways follow up instructions given by military personell

Visited the GLV-V at monday 21-01-2013. It was cold with a lot of snow. Only saw one AH-64D with callsign Redskin03. This Apache made some landings at Eindhoven and then flew (high) over the GLV-V back to Gilze-Rijen.
