Don Muang - RTAF museum

Post by 11E »

Is it still possible to take photographs in the RTAF at Don Muang? According to their site it is ''Do not photograph exhibition objects without permission''.

Does this permission involve paying an amount of bahts, foreigners only  , for something the locals can do free?

I can not remember paying for making photographs in the past but that was in 1996.....

Hi,

I've been there last week and shot everything, for everyone working there to see and no one objected. I didn't know of the rule you mentioned and there were no signs in the museum to that effect as well.
As to payment, admission is free, but there is a box near the entrance for voluntary contributions.

Hans.

Didn't experience any problems in July last year... Like Hans mentioned: no signs & free entry!
A very nice museum!

Was there 3 days ago. No problems taking photos. I think what they mean is that if you 'publish' the photos anywhere eg. Books/magazines you need their permission - it's on the museum website. For interest opposite the Museum is the Air Force Academy, they have a dramatic pole mounted display with a F-16/F-86/F-5A/F-5E if you ask nicely they'll allow you to walk around the display inside the grounds. There is also a F-86L inside on display - enjoy.
