News: Fatal crash of A109E G-CRST in London, Jan 16, 2013

Post by frank kramer »

An as yet unidentified helicopter apparently hit a crane in the Vauxhall district of London this morning at 08.00 GMT, according to http://www.bbc.co.uk

The aircraft came down near Vauxhall train station on Wandsworth Road. Weather at the time was low cloud, possibley obscuring the crane that was used in construction works on a tower flat.

The aircraft is understood to be an AgustaWestland AW109, a lightweight, twin-engine helicopter with eight seats.
The pilot of the helicopter which crashed in central London was one of the country's most experienced and had flown in films such as Die Another Day and Saving Private Ryan.
