North Island Naval Air Station — A helicopter crashed at North Island Naval Air Station late Wednesday night, injuring four crew members on board, authorities said.
An MH-60R Seahawk made what was described as a hard landing, Navy spokesman Lt. Aaron Kakiel said.
Coronado police were notified of the crash about 11:14 p.m.

Other news media were reporting that the helicopter landed on a building, causing a fire that was quickly extinguished. Kakiel said he had no information about a fire, and that no further information about the crash would be available until after 8 a.m.
Federal fire officials asked Heartland Fire for assistance with a battalion chief and a medic unit, a Heartland dispatcher said.
