Me and my wife were able to visit this little airshow on Prince Edward Island in Canada. The show was held August 25th and 26th 2012. Allthough a small airshow, the organisation managed to get the Blue Angels and the Snowbirds. This was the only performance of the Blue Angels outside the US this year.
Friday evening before the airshow there was a little airshow at the waterfront of Summerside, a tribute to the veterans. Some vintage aircraft show their skills, and in the dark a glider and a Corsair flew with fire-pods on their wings.
One of them was caught together with the upcoming moon:
The airshow started with the Canadian Forces Skyhawks, those guys knows ho to do marvellous in the air:
They jumped out of this Herc:
This Aurora left on Friday, to be replaced by another on the static for the weekend:
There were also some heritage aircraft flying, like this F-86 Sabre 5 in the colours of the Golden Hawks:
And this FG-1D Corsair:
There was also a experimental aircraft from Hawker Beechcraft, the T-6 Texan II:
There was a demo from a CF-18 from Bagotville in special colors:
Off course showed the Blue Angels their skills:
And they brought their own photographer:
End of the show was off course for the Snowbirds:
Day 2 of the airshow we visited the nearby Charlottetown Airport, where the Blue Angels, the Snowbirds and the demo CF-18 where temp. based. During take off we were able to visit the tower:
Hope you like this impression.
Ronald

Looks like a good airshow with lots of variety. Nice pics.
The bird just over the top of the Herc is a very lucky one looking at the shadow.

I always say a boy can learn more at an airport than at any school.

Nice report!
T-6 N3000B is not experimental as far as I know; it's the 'company demonstrator'.
Regards,
Stephan

I don't think that's a shadow, I only see individual birds in a flock.Thermal wrote:The bird just over the top of the Herc is a very lucky one looking at the shadow.
