According to Defencenet.gr, 23 German Phantoms are destined for Greece after they have been put out of service in Germany.
14 will be used by the HAF, 9 will be used for spare-parts.
According to Defencenet.gr, this offer was made by the EU/IMF trojka, after Greece told them they wanted to order new F-16's, Mirages or F-15E's.
I don't know if the Greece government accepted this offer or not, but photo's have emerged of 2 German Phantoms in Greece last week, for inspection.

And they ordered new submarines and other military stuff after they received money from the EU and ECB. So it happened before...

If the Greeks regularly fly these Phantoms to the countries that help them out the most financially, I don't really mind. But new fighter jets? Guys, defencenet is the most uninformed military site in Greece ... Don´t believe anything on this site! The two German Phantoms were on a regular crosscountry navigation flight.

Well, with the Greeks we don't know who or what to believe anymore of course...

Mhhh, good news the possibility for GAF F-4 to fly again in the future.
Last week the 2 F-4 made Germany-Greece with a fuel stop in Decimomannu!! Hope they use a base in north-est of Italy next time...
