Dusseldorf - DUS - 16/7/12 - CIV

Post by Indiaecho »

Hi,

Following my trip to Luxembourg, I was up early the next morning to visit one of my favourite airports, Dusseldorf.

There can't be many airports that feature such a good range of traffic and two excellent viewing areas to see it from. My visit started at the viewing area on the terminal. Not unexpectedly for a German airport, Lufthansa are prolific:-

Air Berlin are the busiest airline though:-

As well as the smaller aircraft in the fleet, Dusseldorf also features plenty of A330s as well:-

Their Turkish offshoot provided a 737 as well:-

There were plenty of other Turkish aircraft at the airport, including lots of Turkish Airlines flights:-

As you watch aircraft come and go, you sometimes forget the passengers on board, the reasons why they are travelling, their hopes and fears and the people they are leaving behind. When the Turkish 737 left, the lady next to me took loads of photos as the aircraft taxied to the runway, and by the time it took off was crying uncontrollably.

Tui 737 D-AHFM did its best to lighten the mood:-

The most interesting aircraft for me was Orenair 737 VQ-BLW

Followed by Moldavian Fokker 100 YR-FZA:-

Most of the local spotters had turned up to see Etihad A340-500 A6-EHC which replaced the usual A330:-

and particularly Aerosvit 737 UR-AAP that made no attempt to hide its previous operator:-

I hope the photos are of interest - more can be found at http://www.flickr.com/photos/indiaecho/
