Could it be the frame from the crashed one in Afghanistan? I will compare the pics today.Stephan Lodewijks wrote:There were als two Chinook training frames, of which this one looked most authentic! Anyone more info?

Re: Oranje kazerne 25-08-2012 MIL PICS
Wasn't one crashed Dutch Chinook blown up "on-site" to prevent the Taliban from taking anything useful from it, with the other Dutch Chinook burning down after because of a malfunctioning fire extinguisher ?

Both i/a were never part of real H-47. They were constructed by a dutch company for training purposes.

Re: Oranje kazerne 25-08-2012 MIL PICS
I'd like to point out that the 'fuselage' is devided into three parts which are clearly identifiable in my pic: the front- and back-end of the fuselage are of a different origin and fabrication than the bigger center piece of the fuselage. And it is this centerpiece that is of interest:wamovements wrote:Both i/a were never part of real H-47. They were constructed by a dutch company for training purposes.
- the seven pins protruding from the top ridge are at the exact same spot as the mounts for those typical Chinook "wasrekken" would be.
- you can see an access port between the first two windows: this acces port can also be seen on 'the real thing'.
- the typical long 'side-bumpers' seem to have been there before, but removed.
- exactly where the front wheel is mounted on real Chinooks, you can see an extra bulkhead sticking out. I'm not an engineer, but I can 'imagine' putting it there for the wheel mounts.
- the inside of the centerpiece looked, at least to me, authentic.
- if the whole fuselage was constructed from scratch I wouldn't expect it to have such a clearcut three-part difference in building material and applied technique.
So, it seems to me the centerpiece is from a Chinook. The question is: is it from a real airframe, or is it from some static frame without construction number?
The plot thickens.... Maybe Otger can help?
Best regards,
Stephan

Hello
A few years ago i visit also the Oranje Kazerne and saw the same rig.
A militair told me the two rigs came from the states and prepared by a metal compagny. This compagny made the undercarriage.
No more info know........

I count 5, the exact number a real Chinook has when the hatch behind the cockpit is closed so I'm not sure what your point is.wamovements wrote:Count the windows
As Stephan pointed out the middle part appeared from a real chinook while the front and rear were not.

Re: Oranje kazerne 25-08-2012
* Thanks for the helpful illustration Koen. And thanks to wamovements for supplying a picture that supports the idea fuselage being a Chinook air-/staticframe (although you intended it to prove otherwise... ): I count 5 windows in both pics, but, more specifically: 3 windows in both fuselagesections that are concerned here.wamovements wrote:Count the windows
* Comparing wamovements' picture with mine I notice another detail: the 3rd window in both pics is a bulged window.

Re: Oranje kazerne 25-08-2012
Sorry guys, knowing the guys who was responsible for these two testframes, I can 100% confirm that both are fake. But as the discussion continues it seems that some will continue the discussion untill somebody says they are real. Therefor I will withdraw to this discussion. Both were produced based on detailed pictures.

Dennis

Re: Oranje kazerne 25-08-2012
I partly understand your frustration Dennis, but I'm just following my instinct. You must admit, despite what you know it's kind of strange, again:
1 fuselage is clearly all fake,
and...
1 fuselage is made of 3 clearcut seperate parts, of which the building techniques and material used on the front and back are just like the all-fake fuselage. The 3rd big center section is of a complete different build, and giving numerous clues it's a real air- or static frame...
Just if people wonder: no, I'm not a chronic conspiracy theorist...!!
