Wasn't one crashed Dutch Chinook blown up "on-site" to prevent the Taliban from taking anything useful from it, with the other Dutch Chinook burning down after because of a malfunctioning fire extinguisher ?

Both i/a were never part of real H-47. They were constructed by a dutch company for training purposes.

I'd like to point out that the 'fuselage' is devided into three parts which are clearly identifiable in my pic: the front- and back-end of the fuselage are of a different origin and fabrication than the bigger center piece of the fuselage. - the seven pins protruding from the top ridge are at the exact same spot as the mounts for those typical Chinook "wasrekken" would be.
- you can see an access port between the first two windows: this acces port can also be seen on 'the real thing'.
- the typical long 'side-bumpers' seem to have been there before, but removed.
- exactly where the front wheel is mounted on real Chinooks, you can see an extra bulkhead sticking out. I'm not an engineer, but I can 'imagine' putting it there for the wheel mounts.
- the inside of the centerpiece looked, at least to me, authentic.
- if the whole fuselage was constructed from scratch I wouldn't expect it to have such a clearcut three-part difference in building material and applied technique.
So, it seems to me the centerpiece is from a Chinook. The question is: is it from a real airframe, or is it from some static frame without construction number?
The plot thickens.... Maybe Otger can help?

A few years ago i visit also the Oranje Kazerne and saw the same rig.
A militair told me the two rigs came from the states and prepared by a metal compagny. This compagny made the undercarriage.
No more info know........

As Stephan pointed out the middle part appeared from a real chinook while the front and rear were not.

Sorry guys, knowing the guys who was responsible for these two testframes, I can 100% confirm that both are fake. But as the discussion continues it seems that some will continue the discussion untill somebody says they are real. Therefor I will withdraw to this discussion. Both were produced based on detailed pictures.
