Belladrum Music Festival 2012

I was given the opportunity to shoot at Belladrum, like Rockness it is near Inverness, and I was very keen to do so. Having been in previous years I knew it was going to be a great festival anyway because it always has a very family-friendly, enjoyable and relaxing atmosphere about it. The music is mixed, everything from ska to rock, electro to metal were on offer from the different stages. This year we were blessed with lovely weather on both the Friday and Saturday having arrived just as it was brightening up from a grim Thursday morning - the arrival weather was similar to our departure weather on the Sunday where it was grim and rainy, by this point I was in no situation to care.

The only thing I don't like about shooting at festivals is the lighting on the mainstage before nightfall, the light effects are drowned out by the daylight so I decided to stick to the tents earlier in the day.

This is Great photography indeed!
I do stuff like this too but it is too bad that the majority of the pop / rock (or whatever) festivals don't allow "professional" photogear.
You pay a lot (!!!) of money to get in but your camera has to stay out...

I'm lucky in that its a small enough festival and I was covering for a review site that I managed the opportunity. It's more a who you know than anything.
