In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.).

Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so.

Along with Niall - who I must thank very much for the lift down -, I made the trip down to RAF Leuchars for the Italians, Danes and French. Meeting Mark, Graeme, Sam and his Dad down there and heading to the beach we ended up chatting and having a laugh whilst we waited in the sun. Not much was happening and 1000 came and went without the Italians having even called up. A quartet of based jets including a 1sqn jet - FA/ZK316 - went up aswell but it wasn't even worth trying to shoot so I just watched. After a Tarnish 20 callsign Tornado overshot and shortly after a Lossie based Tornado did too the Italians called up. Perfect, in position, sun was out - what could possibly go wrong? A change of ends, that's what. With no time to move even to the crash gate, let alone up to the other end, we could only watch as the four Typhoons broke overhead and went below the horizon. So next came the rush to the other end for the based jets, thankfully we managed to catch them as they were beating up the circuit for a good half an hour.

1. 'ES' arrived in single tank configuration.

2. The sun came out for 'EO', sadly none for 'FA' who could have if it had done one more circuit. Oh well!

4. Then the Danes called up, almost avoiding the sun which came out JUST in time. Both aircraft, were of the five visiting Lossie back in June.

7. Another four local Typhoons went up, again FA returned in the cloud..

8. The Alpha Jets then arrived on 27 so no photos. I started falling asleep before jet noise woke me up - it was the Italians who had started. It was 5pm by this point, about time as we were considering going home!

10. Frustratingly the sun dodged the Italians on their return after shining for pretty much the whole time they were up. Oh well!

A very nice report Macc, great photos. I really like all the different squadron markings. I recognize the advantage of airfields near by the sea as well, clear clean skies.
