Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so. |

LUFTWAFFE vs HEER ....... practical joke
I shot these pics last monday (May 14th), the day after the Rotenburger Luftfahrtmesse at Rotenburg/Wuemme Airport (EDXQ).
A Luftwaffe C-160D 50+97 and a HEER (army) CH-53G 84+59, were parked close together at this show.
Overnight, from sunday to monday, the Transall crew fooled around at the CH-53 with some duct-tape and here you see the result

I have seen that before, but try as I might, I can't remember where and when. ..F-4G_rhino wrote: A Luftwaffe C-160D 50+97 and a HEER (army) CH-53G 84+59, were parked close together at this show.

Very funny. A few years ago at RIAT 'HEER' was changed into 'CHEERS'

It is more memorable when they don't do this, as that one is a regular at RIAT.Koen L wrote:Very funny. A few years ago at RIAT 'HEER' was changed into 'CHEERS'

It is fun when they do things like that with words like 'HEER', 'ARMY', or what ever. But when they change registrations on a way like that, then it is not so funny anymore.
Which they did at RIAT once with a RAF Wessex XR505 WA - XR605 WA, I remember.

I remember they once did it to a Luftwaffe Phantom at RIAT. It was displayed with a never existed regi. The internet almost exploded.camel1 wrote:It is fun when they do things like that with words like 'HEER', 'ARMY', or what ever. I'm pretty sure I've seen a pic of German CH-53's with these exact 'Help' titles in an issue of Air Forces Monthly. They were used for humanitarian relief, somewhere abroad. So, are you sure this is a practical joke, or just an operational application?

At the open house of Nieder Mendig Heeserflieger flugplatz (?) in Germany the below picture was taken. Date almost 25 years ago (I´m getting older )
