48th Fighter "Liberty" Wing F-15's!

A phototopic about the F-15's from the 48th Fighter "Liberty" Wing, based at RAF Lakenheath, UK. Show the best pics you have from the F-15E Strike Eagles from the 492nd or 494th FS or the "Albino" C/D's from the 493rd (together with a little story 'bout when and where).

Let me start with this Strike Eagle from the 494th FS "Panthers", taking off runway 06 at RAF Lakenheath in spring 2008:

Nice DJ, like those TLP shots (beautifull light) and that air-2-air above sea, beautifull! Keep 'em coming, can't get enough off those Lakenheath Eagles!

In November 2008 two F-15C's from the 493rd landed at Soesterberg Air Base to 'celebrate' the closure off this oldest Dutch base and to remember the 32nd (T)FS "Wolfhounds" flew from Soesterberg with their Eagles till 1994. Here the commanders bird 84-0027/LN '493 FS' enters the 300 platform, after it landed on runway 27, vacated at the A7 intersection and taxied via the Novembertrack and the "Queens", as the short runway 13/31 was called.

Leeuwarden is the place in the Netherlands F-15C/D's can still be found every now and than. The 493rd have good connections with the Dutch 322 Sqn and join exercises like FWIT or Frisian Flag frequently. Here F-15C 86-0176/LN prepares for departure from runway 06 at Leeuwarden in 2008:

During a hot TLP day at Florennes this 494FS 91-0330/LN comes into land, July 2001

On the famous Florennes AB taxi track here 91-0301/LN and 91-0311/LN from 492FS taxiing to the runway, February 2004
