You already answered your own questions, I think. I wouldn't count on any decent photo opportunities if they use 24. Your best bet would be the hill at the 06 end and hope some aircraft stay a bit lower than usual.

I don't think so. After take off runway 24 runway heading 080 so they will bank slightly to the right to avoid the village of Marssum.

Addition to the excellent list by Maurits: F-16AM J-061 (313mks) is also present. Today (25th, so rather: yesterday) it operated out of one of the QRA-shelters and flew in the afternoon mission.

J-061 is now a Leeuwarden F16, delivered a couple of weeks ago

NATO05 is in the TRAs on April 26th in support of FF2012.

Any info on what time the first jets are about to take off?
Which gives me an idea on what time I should leave home.

If they are taking off from runway 24, would it be best to watch that from spot 1 or better directly go to the spottershill and return to spot 1 for the landings?


Cameras and lenses are packed, batteries are charging.
This will be my first spotting/photographing in a long time. Looking forward to it.
