Re: Frisian FLAG 2012
Morning,
Does anybody have some info on departure day? Will they depart in the morning, or in the afternoon? I saw on the AGL page that the BAF are leaving in the afternoon.
As I'm only able during afternoon, I was wondering if it's worth going there....

At the AGl spottersday it was mentioned that on friday in the morning there will be a mission flown and departures in the afternoon, but don't be surprised if it is just a departure dayOscar01 wrote:Morning,

With reference to the news article published tonight on www.telegraaf.nl: is there any more information (audio) available regarding the near miss at FL 250 between a F70 en route to TRF from AMS and a possible fighter from the Frisian Flag 2012 event ? Event took place near the German island of Sylt

Re: Frisian FLAG 2012
Due to my work I haven't been able to visit Leeuwarden yet. I hope to go there on Friday. The weather prediction is very good. The prevailing wind direction seems to indicate they will be using runway 24.
Will there be anything to see (and photograph)? I am afraid that they will not have a wave in the morning, just departures. From my memory (haven't been there in years) there is not that much to see and photograph around spot 1 when they will only depart and at spot 4 they will already be too high.
I wish would be able to visit tomorrow, but I have meetings I can't cancel. Any recommendations?

Re: Frisian FLAG 2012
You already answered your own questions, I think. I wouldn't count on any decent photo opportunities if they use 24. Your best bet would be the hill at the 06 end and hope some aircraft stay a bit lower than usual.
Answers will be questioned.....
Re: Frisian FLAG 2012
Confirmation this from BIC that there will be a wave at friday morning and departures and transport aircraft in the afternoon
Re: Frisian FLAG 2012
Great news, my patience got rewarded after all! Do you know if this concerns all participants, or will some still leave in the morning?roberto wrote:Confirmation this from BIC that there will be a wave at friday morning and departures and transport aircraft in the afternoon
