Re: Spotterday on Wittmund??

Post by Arthur Bijster »

I recieved this answer about no flying at the spottersday.

thank for your interest in our Spotterday on 5th of June 2012. It was a
decision of the leading of the Luftwaffe to have no flying machines at the
Spotterday, so we have to accept this.
We hope you can enjoy your visit also without flying.

Best regards,

Ehnts-Hinrichs

Hello Gabri

I assume that the days prior and after the spottersday are normal operational days. I think that they decided to cancel the flights at the spottersday because of safety matters.

I would be there anyway.

Indeed our hosts are very clear. Only static aircraft.

.....but several local Phantoms will be put in front of a shelter. So how many people can say that they have photographed Phantoms in front of a shelter?

Grtz Edward.

That's strange Bastiaan. I send my request the 17th of April and didn't get an answer. So, I send it again on the 24th of April and yesterday I got my invitation.

yes very strange...

I send it by registered mail tommorow...and asked them to respond via email and confirm to me...

last time with a spottersday there, there was no check on any passport or anything. Just parked my car on the base and walked to the shelters....I did got an ok letter by email after I was registered at that time and took those with me, but never were these checked!

Anyway, it will be fine.
Thanks for the feedback guys!
