I took the pics below during my recent holiday on Bonaire. There's a lot of photos in here, hope you enjoy!
Leaving Holland
Note the windmills above the wing
Recognize the city below?
A company KLM Asia B772 overtaking us rapidly
The best I could do
Arriving at Aruba for a short stop
Arrival at Bonaire
2 days later, we had booked a sightseeing flight, which was incredibly nice!
Our ride
The mangroves, place of birth for many fish
Sorobon, THE windsurfing area on Bonaire. If you look closely, you can see a few surfers
One of the water inlets for the salt works
Willemstoren
The South side of the island
Ever wondered where your salt comes from..? Tadaa!
Punt Vierkant, where we used to live
See the pool? There are 6 houses on the right and 4 above it. The 2nd house from right in the row of 4 was ours
Belnem
Flamingo Airport. On the top left at the airport, you can see a big platform, which is used by widebodies like Arkefly's 767 and KLM's MD-11 (and also for parking smaller bizjets).
In front of the terminal and tower, there is a smaller platform, which is used for the scheduled commercial services, like the DAE ATR 42 that is currently on the ground.
Below that is the general aviation apron, which has been hosting a Venezuelan Jetstream for almost 10 years (they are unable to find the owner and after 10 years the may scrap it).
Overview of the bay where Kralendijk lies
Kralendijk with the cruise ship still present and a good view of the Harbour Village Marina
Trans World Radio
BOPEC, the oil refinery
Slagbaai, inside the national park. Note the high peak on the left of the strut, that is the Brandaris and it's the highest mountain on the island with an altitude of 241m. We climbed it during our holiday
The old and new lighthouse
Boka Kokolishi, one of the best beaches on the island and very secluded.
Yes, windmills have made it to the island aswell! On a good they, they provide up to 40% of the electricity for Bonaire, not bad I'd say!
Rincon, the second town on Bonaire
The official practise area for aircraft on the island
Caves
One of the lighthouses being renovated
Going for another round over Kralendijk
Other random aviation photos I took during my stay:
And then sadly there is a time to go home
And that's it, hope I didn't waste too much of your time

Flightplan says route of KLM765/PH-KCB was planned via overhead Southampton. But considering the river and bridges, I put my money on London!!!TNCB wrote:I took the pics below during my recent holiday on Bonaire. There's a lot of photos in here, hope you enjoy!

I envy you for having flown PH-KCB! That's one of the two I haven't flown yet!
