Which camera do you use,and how many bodies ?
In order to get some new insights in the use of digital cameras among aviation photographers, I have created a new poll woth two questions.
1. Which brand is your current main digital camera ?
2. How many digital SLR's have you owned until now ?
Looking forward to your replies. In the poll you can select two options.
Cheers,
Iwan
PS: Feel free two write about the make and models that you owned, or reasons about brand switch etc.

Re: Which camera do you use,and how many bodies ?
Let me kick off first.
I got my first digital SLR camera in 2004. It was a Canon EOS-1D Mark II. In 2009 I bought a Canon EOS-5D Mark II to serve as a back-up for the first one, as well as provide me with better wide angle options. But after my first trip the 5D2 promoted to "main body" because the results were so much better. One year later I replaced my 1D2 with a Canon EOS-1D Mark IV, which is now my main camera. The 5D2 still serves as a back-up, and I still own the 1D2 too )borrowed it to a friend since 1,5 years now).

Euh Iwan, isn´t the used glass (Canon L or Nikon gold for instance) at least as important as the used body´s?

I used five camera's (four models) up to now.. I started out with a 300D in early 2004. Crappy little camera, so I switched to the 20D in 2005. This one was downgraded to backup camera in 2009, when I bought my first 40D. Another 40D replaced the 20D in 2010. Recently I sold one of my 40D's and got a 7D. Slowly working up my way..

This isn't the first time you're wondering what gear everyone hauls around Iwan, is it? No pun intended, don't make this a "brand X is so much beter than Y" topic please.
Anyhow, I'm still using the first DSLR I bought back in 2006: a Nikon D200. Although I would like to have a newer, faster and better in low light one, it will still soldier one and doing its job for me.

Re: Which camera do you use,and how many bodies ?
Got my first DSLR in 2005 which was a KonicaMinolta 7D and last October I got the Sony A900 as a replacement for my KM7D which has been kind of broken... I was planning on replacing it one day, but then it stopped working correctly so I had to get something new, which became the A900 after lots of consideration...
(the glass question, will become a next poll i guess )

I'd rather depict atmosphere and the 'heat of the moment' making a catchy photo than to reflect the real situation and real colours showing a boring photo.

I started with a D50. Changed to a D80 and didn't notice much difference. Then on to a D90, a leap forward in image quality. At the moment I use a D5100, very nice images, but don't like the handling. Will buy a D90 again soon.

Re: Which camera do you use,and how many bodies ?
In 2008 I bought my first DSLR, a Nikon D80. Before that, I always used my dad's Nikon D70. After a few months I traded my D80 for a second hand D70S and in the following years I bougth 2 more second hand D70S's. In 2011 I bought a Nikon D300S and this one is currently my main camera together with one D70S (I like using two cameras at the same time).

Started with a Nikon D70 in 2004 and sold it in 2008, replacing it with a D300.
My second DSLR body, a Nikon D200, has been in use since 2006.

Started with a 20D (still in use for slide digitizing), followed by a 1D IIN, (now back up) and 1,5 years ago a 1D mark IV.

Re: Which camera do you use,and how many bodies ?
Started in 2001 with a Casio QV2900UX.
In 2005 I bought my first DSLR (Canon 350D), still have that body as a backup
In 2011 I bougth a Canon 7D, sold that in january 2012
In 2012 I bougth a Canon 1D mark IV that is now my primary body.
Still looking for a nice bargain on the sigma 12-24 wide angle for the 1Dm4.
Can't use the Sigma 10-20 I have on that one. Miss it.

Re: Which camera do you use,and how many bodies ?
I started with a Nikon D100 back in 2003 replacing my F100 film camera. After that I owned a D80 and a D90. Right now I have 2 Nikon D300s and waiting for the new D400 to appear. All glass I use is Nikkor.
