The CH-47D was loaded in to the C-17A 02-1106. It was stripped from both rotors and gear boxes. This is an old Ansbach machine. The Chinook was not read ourselves, and should be heading back to US.

These were the main reason for heading to Germany. Although their flights were postponed later, all three were outside and had their doors open. No other activity whatsover on this airfield.

Hi Jeroen,

Nice log but are you sure that the Chinook was loaded in C-17A 02-1106??
02-1106 was dep eastbound and returned today. So it looks like that the Chinook was not going straight to the US but middle east??
